So my brother cade and his wife kellee came out to see us.

We loved hanging out with them. How can you come to Connecticut and not make a trip to the Big Apple? (oh i love that place). And Boston too (i love that place). Checked out Anthropooie :) in Manhattan

I took the ferry to long island to meet up with robin (awesome), brooke (awesome) and kelli (awesome) for an exciting little weekend in the hamptons. I loved loved loved it.

So Raleigh & I have pretty much been students our whole marriage. After we were married we both worked to save up some money and we've happily been studenting (it's probably a word) and working since. Only 3 more weeks of that craziness.

Saying goodbye to ithaca, in all it's hippie glory, will be hard (see below). Even harder though will be having to say goodbye to our friends and all of the great people we've met. So, i'm mostly going to ignore that until we leave and pretend like we're just going on vacation...maybe to hawaii or something.

Here's to Ithaca...

I love that the grocery stores have different bins for compostable materials, recyclables and garbage (yuck). When we first moved here all of the children's activities that we went to taught the kids how to compost and recycle. I pretty much had no idea what they were talking about.

I love seeing this. When we first drove into town there was an Amish buggy coming out of the Walmart parking lot. I immediately feel in love.

GreenStar is the best. I thought it was a little crazy at first...The guy with the huge goat head mask in the deli was really weird. The other man in the deli with his "will work for food" sign was kind of different. The looks I got when I'd ask for a paper bag because I forgot to bring my own. The money i've spent on reusable greenstar bags because i didn't want to get "the look".

We love Wegman's.

Cape Cod 4th of July

We're living in New England this summer for Raleigh's internship and we're loving being so close to everything. For the 4th of July, we made a trip to Cape Cod...it was amazing. We found a fun 4th of July parade in the pleasantly named town of Hyannis, right in the middle of the cape. The beaches are gorgeous - we couldn't get enough of them. Here are some pics of our weekend.

Loving Summer

We went to a Rose Festival in Hartford a few weeks ago. It was beautiful. As always, Erik liked running around & away from us. Kellen wasn't thrilled about looking at the flowers...but was satisfied when he got to throw rocks in the pond.

Little Erik turned 2 today! We went to the park and threw rocks in the water, spent some time at a bbq that raleigh's classmates were having and enjoyed some beautiful Ithaca weather.

Some fun 2 year old things Erik's done this week...

locked himself in my bedroom (kellen and I had to take the doorknob off to get in)
flooded the kitchen floor (this is actually the second big flood he's created...the first was at my sisters over christmas...they had to replace part of their downstairs ceiling)
He spilled pop all over my friend's shoe - I set him down to get it cleaned up and he took off - outside the church doors, across the street and into someones yard to play. Our friends, who just happen to be leaving, noticed him hanging out across the street and brought him back to us as we were frantically looking for him.

He's a sweetheart little boy and we have so much fun with him! Happy Happy Birthday Erik.

We made a trip to New York City a couple of weeks ago with our friends the Rollins & had a great time. We found cheap tickets to a Jazz game that we just couldn't pass up. Kellen kept chanting "it's all your fault, it's all your fault" at the game, a little something he picked up at the hockey game.

The Jazz lost by one basket with 1.5 seconds left and of course Raleigh was devastated, but wants me to write that"Boozer scored 41 points"

We got to spend some time with Raleigh's aunt and some cousins in New Jersey- it was so nice spending time with family. She took us to this huge field of boulders with some hammers...Ringing Rock Park. (We can't take credit for the photo...Erik shoved his finger into our camera lens at the game and our digital camera is no more) Some of the rocks have some sort of metallic mineral in them & so when you hit them with a hammer they "ding" like a hollow metal pipe. Pretty cool...the boys' were crazy about hammering the rocks.
Conan's Set

Our friends have family in New York City and one of them works at NBC...so we got a sweet Free VIP tour of the NBC studios. This is us on Conan's set. We also got to check out the "Good Morning America" set and peeked inside Al Roker & Ann Curry's office. Also, we got to see where they film SNL...it was so much fun!

BJ Novak and Jerry Stiller

Jordan and I decided to go enjoy some comedic entertainment. We went to watch BJ Novak (the Temp Ryan on the Office) on a little date. He was extremely funny and we had a little night to ourselves because some friends of ours watched the kids.

For Jerry Stiller (Ben Stiller's dad, Frank Castanza on Seinfeld), we dropped Kellen off at the YMCA and took Erik with us. Jerry was hilarious and as he was going through his routine he mentioned a time when a girl called him a facist bastard, sorry but it is very imporant to my story. Erik heard this and started saying, quite loudly, fas.....chist, fas.....chist, fas......chist bas.....tard. He said that a few times and we couldn't get him to quit. The people around us were suprised and then laughed pretty hard.

Hockey Game

We went to a Cornell hockey game the other day- Loved it. We were right up in the front row, and got to see lots of friendly faces smashed up against the glass. Hockey is pretty popular here...people wait in line all night long to get season tickets. We sat right next to the student section and Kellen learned all sorts of great insults..."It's all your fault" was his favorite.

Dragon Fire

So the Architecture and Engineer students have had this ongoing battle since the early 1900s. One group builds the Phoenix and the other builds the Dragon...they march around in costumes and then the dragon gets lit on fire. Pretty sweet. Here are some pics.

So we didn't actually get to visit with the Dalai Lama, but he's in town to bless a temple being built...right down the street from us. Would have loved to attend one of his talks but tickets were completely sold out...except for, of course, on Craigs List.

The first post. I can hardly believe that its been months since we've seen most of you. The trip was great and loooooong. We saw some of the great sights and had a wonderful time. Here are some of the photos.

Here's some of our first photos in Montana. Kellen and Erik were still really stoked about the trip at this point. Montana was pretty sweet. Next, Yellowstone! It was awesome and we really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and wildlife. Also, I always get a kick out of bubbles coming out of the water.
